Uninterruptible Power Supplies (ASI or UPS) are the safety grid commonly used by individuals and businesses wishing to protect themselves against possible failures of the electrical network: they provide immediate reliable and secure current while waiting a return from the network or the start-up of an alternative source (generators for example). They are found behind all critical applications: SME IT, factories or data centers.

The search for better energy efficiency has always been one of the drivers of the UPS market given the importance of energy costs for customers. In 2006, a voluntary commitment was concluded between the main UPS manufacturers and the Joint Research Center of the European Commission. After its update in 2021, manufacturers are now taking a further step by launching the “Elite UPS” brand.
